The Oscars must have been given away, but the stars and their words at the prestigious ceremony are still echoing and would stay in people's mind for long.

Walking on the red carpet, Gabourey Sibide, nominated for Best Actress for 'Precious', based on the novel 'Push' by Sapphire, commented on her dress: "If fashion was porn, this dress is the money shot."

Sandra Bullock was asked what she wanted to eat after the Awards.

"I'm thinking a cheeseburger, and some fries, deep-fried fries, like, twice-fried. And oh, maybe a milkshake of some kind," the New York Daily News quoted her as saying.

Tina Fey, on this being the Oscars and not the Emmys: "You can tell - everyone is taller and better looking."

Meryl Streep on her favourite part of Oscars night: "Getting inside and sitting down."

Host for the night, Steve Martin commented on Streep: "She has the most nominations - or as I like to think of it, the most losses."

Steve Martin on Kathryn Bigelow's nomination gift to ex-husband James Cameron: "She sent him a gift basket with a timer," referring to the homemade bombs in her movie 'The Hurt Locker'.

Robert Downey Jr. in presenting the award for best original screenplay, on actors and screenwriters working together: "It's a collaboration between handsome gifted people and sickly little mole people."

Co-presenter Tina Fey, representing the writers: "It's really not. You just say whatever [we tell you to] say." (ANI)
